Trade Wind Season
May through October. South-east trade winds bring consistent clear skies and exceptional visibility across the west coast panorama. Slightly cooler and very comfortable for outdoor sessions. Best overall conditions for Maconde.
Summer Season
December through April. Warmer and more humid. Morning sessions strongly recommended — clearer visibility before the afternoon heat haze. Lush green vegetation surrounds the cliff road. Occasional showers clear quickly on the west coast.
Golden Hour
Maconde faces west over the Indian Ocean — golden hour is exceptional. Sunset ranges from 17:30 in June to 19:00 in January. The entire west coast lagoon and Le Morne Brabant catch the last light simultaneously. One of the finest sunset viewpoints on the island.
Morning Light
7–10am offers clear visibility before heat haze builds. Le Morne Brabant catches warm directional light from the north-east at this hour, creating texture and depth in the mountain. Calm winds — ideal for drone work before the trade winds build.
