JW Marriott Mauritius occupies one of the most dramatic stretches of coastline on the island — the south-west peninsula at Le Morne, where the basalt bulk of Le Morne Brabant rises almost 556 metres from the water's edge. The lagoon here is vast, the beach is long and exposed, and the quality of light in the final hour before sunset is unlike anything you will find elsewhere in Mauritius.
The south-west coast faces directly west, which means every evening unfolds into a full-spectrum sunset — from pale gold through deep amber to vivid rose — with Le Morne Brabant silhouetted against the sky.
