Image Licensing

Every photograph on this site was made by Bilaal Sadeer in Mauritius. This page sets out how those images may be used — what clients receive with a session, and how hotels, brands and publishers can license work for commercial purposes.

What You Receive With a Session

Every photography session includes full personal-use rights to your delivered gallery, at no extra cost and with no expiry. That means you may print your photographs at any size, share them on personal social media, send them to family and friends, and include them in albums, invitations or personal websites.

You do not need to ask permission for any of that, and there is no watermark on delivered images. A credit is always appreciated when you post publicly — Photo by Bilaal Sadeer — but it is not required for personal use.

Personal use does not extend to commercial use. If your photographs will promote a business, product or venue — including a hotel reposting your wedding images to advertise its own services — that requires a commercial licence, which is straightforward to arrange.

Commercial Licensing

Hotels, resorts, tourism boards, wedding planners, agencies, publishers and brands can licence images from the existing archive or commission new work. Licences are issued per project and priced on scope — where the images will appear, for how long, and in which territories.

Typical uses include property and destination marketing, websites and booking platforms, brochures and print, social media campaigns, editorial and press features, and trade or travel-industry material.

The archive covers all 26 photographed locations across Mauritius, 34 named resorts and properties, aerial and drone imagery, and a commissioned tourism assignment on Rodrigues. If you have a specific location or subject in mind, ask — it may already exist.

Copyright & Conditions

Copyright. Copyright in all photographs remains with Bilaal Sadeer. Delivering a gallery grants the licence described above; it does not transfer copyright.

Editing. Please do not apply filters, crops that alter the composition, or third-party edits to delivered images before publishing them. The retouching is part of the work.

Redistribution. Images may not be sold, sub-licensed, or supplied to stock libraries or AI training datasets without written permission.

Third parties. Suppliers who appear in or contributed to a shoot — venues, planners, florists, stylists — may request usage; that is usually granted with credit, but it must be requested rather than assumed.

Privacy. Client images are never published without permission. If you would prefer your photographs never appear on this site or on social media, say so at booking and that is respected permanently.

Questions about a specific use are welcome and usually answered the same day. See also the general terms and privacy policy.
